Derrick Rose, youngest MVP

BEIJING, May 3 (Xinhuanet) -- Chicago Bulls' guard Derrick Rose has been named the NBA Most Valuable Player on Tuesday, according to sport news Tuesday.

At the age of 22, Rose has become the league's youngest recipient ever. Averaging 25 points per game and 7.7 assists, Rose lead the Bulls to an NBA-best 62-20 record.

He became the first point guard in history, and the only the fifth player ever, to post 2,000 points, 600 assists and 300 rebounds in one season. The four others are Oscar Robertson, Michael Jordan, LeBron James and John Havlicek.

Meanwhile, Rose also became the first MVP winner since 1973 to win the award without polling lebron XI a single vote in the previous season.

The last Bulls' player who won the title was Michael Jordan in 1998—that was his fifth MVP.

Bulls' Tom Thibodeau kobe shoes was named NBA Coach of the Year on Sunday after leading his team to tie a record for most wins by a coach in his first season.
